Yes! Black, rust-free aluminum mounting brackets are included with Windsor Flower Boxes.

Mount using the included aluminum brackets using fasteners as required for the type of mounting surface. Make sure that the wall, window sill, railing, etc. to which you are attaching the brackets is sufficiently strong to hold the weight of the fully loaded planter. Brackets should be level, and the top of the brackets should be at least 2-3/4" below any overhang (like a window sill).

Add a small amount of perlite medium around the outside of the self-watering area. Finish filling the planter with a light to medium weight potting mix. You will need 10 quarts of potting mix for each 12" length. Routinely adding plant food, according to plant’s directions, will dramatically increase the health, beauty, and longevity of the plants in your Windsor Window Boxes.

Tip: Remember to drill drainage holes for outdoor use before filling the planter with soil.

Yes! Our flower window box has a built-in self-watering feature to keep your plants hydrated and healthy with less frequent waterings and prevents root rot.

Please note the small holes on the inside floor of the planter allow the water to collect in a reservoir in the bottom of the planter and return as needed. These holes are not for external drainage.

No, but you can easily drill drainage holes into the bottom of the window box. We recommend doing so if you use the planter outdoors. Simply turn the planter upside down and drill the holes from the bottom into the rib that runs up the center of the planter. Holes should be about 3/8 inch in diameter and about six inches apart, all the way through both the inner and outer skins of the planter. To avoid disrupting the self-watering functionality, do not drill drainage holes anywhere else on the bottom of the planter other than in the depression area on the centerline of the planter.

Yes! The Windsor Window Box is easy to paint to match your house or trim color for faux finishes, such as granite or marble.

1. Clean the planter with household cleaner and rinse completely. Light sanding will enhance adhesion.
2. Apply primer to planter as recommended by your paint supplier.
3. Apply exterior latex or oil paint as recommended by your paint supplier.
